Christmas 2010

Grandma Jan's Christmas Eve, iDazz Arena then the Millers Christmas Day/Night, and some shots of Caroline and Matt prior to the "Officer's Ball".  What was especially memorable was video skyping Uncle Paul who was in Poland.  The shots of the kids talking to Paul via the Mac are priceless.

The weekend before we took Caroline to Villanova we took in our first family concert together... Zac Brown.

From NYC & Nova Move In

  Then it was off to NYC for a few days of sight seeing before heading to 'Nova and the start of Caroline's freshman year.   Caroline is truly in an amazing 'new home'-- One that is a perfect fit for her!   The Mass they had for the freshman class was very moving.

vWhile the 5am wake-up call was tough, we were rewarded with near-perfect conditions for the trip from Cotuit to Monomoy-- absolute sleigh ride!   While the stripers were sparse, it was great to be with Jim and Wardo an our sons.

Summer Vaca on FinsUp

After many false-starts we finally made it to Cuttyhunk.  While expectations were high, the experience far exceeded them (except if you ask Caroline who was disappointed we called off the next leg of the trip to Newport).   We were joined by close friends (Cape-Koz's, Hamlins and the Whites... for one overnight we owned the dock!) 

Celebrating Caroline's 18th on Nantucket & Dissed by Jimmy!

With Michael in Mississippi and Drew at Lax camp, Trish and I were able to turn back the hands of time and visit Nantucket with Caroline like used to when she was a baby. Now she's all grown up! Special surprise, Jimmy Buffett pulled in next door! Unfortunately, he refused my request to pose in a pic in front of FinsUp. What a bummer!

We had a great time. I think Caroline really liked the 80 page photobook we gave her entitled "18 Years of Smiles" (see below the slide show or click here).

Caroline & Kate's Grad Party

Caroline and Kate hosted a fantastic bash at our house on Fri nite. Great kids! The 6am alarm came quickly and off the boys and I went to get FinsUp back into her natural habitat.

Drew and his 5th grade class worked every day for months to prepare for this fine performance that depicts the trials and tribulations of Louis and Clark. Below are excerpts of the show featuring our very own Soldier #5 in need of a haircut!  Special bonus:  Drew's biggest fans were done with school and in attendance.

Caroline Graduates!

Hopkinton High class of 2010 graduated yesterday.  What a great day and wonderful ceremony.  We could not be prouder of our daughter and very impressed with our high school administration and faculty.  She is well-prepared, ready to take on the world, and will be gift to the Villanova community. 

 

Caroline's Last Skating Performance )-:

Today was Caroline's last performance as an amateur skater.  We are so proud of what she has accomplished!  It's sad there aren't more options for competitive figure skaters in college.  

One door closes and another opens...  bring on the puck!

Easter 09!

One of the nicest days in a while... the kids had a blast.

Father / Son Game

Father/Son hockey match-ups are among my favorite events of the season.  This year my inner-geek got the better of me, and with Michael's help, I rigged up a helmet cam.  It wasn't til halfway through the game that I thought to check my 'footage' and realized I had great shots of the ceiling!  After a few adjustments, we were in business...

Here's a 1-min clip of helmet cam highlights.   The best part is at the beginning where I throw smack at Drewsie at a faceoff and then take him down (with Michael, his older brother as ref, I knew I had the upper hand)... I cant get away with this much longer so I will enjoy it while I can!

Bittersweet - Caroline's Last Skating Competition

Last weekend, Caroline and her Lexettes Team skated in their last competition of the season, competing in the "Nationals" in Minneapolis.  The weekend was filled with both excitement and sadness for Caroline as she was well aware that this would be her last competition in a sport she adores, but alas, has very limited collegiate options.


The good news, the Lexies brought home Bronze and have this profile from the local NBC affiliate all about them and their sport.  Congrats to Caroline for over 13 years of 52-wks/yr passion and commitment!

Crusaders win Ocean State Tourney

Also last weekend were 6 games in 3 days with the mighty Crusaders going 5-0-1 and taking home the hardware in the PW-minor AAA division!

Mom's 70th

Very proud of Caroline and her team. Hard work since Aug allowed them to beat last yrs #1 in world Finland in the long program and to snag a Bronze overall.

Frozen Fenway

Snowy and cold at Fenway Park last night for the BU v BC tilt.  Started off with a little pool @ Jillians, followed by the game at Fenway.  Great seats behind BC goalie... only bummer was that we were in the BU section.

New Years Twenty-Ten

Great time as guests of the Hamlins & at Bob & Kelly's for NY-Eve and the Winter Classic. Bob & Kelly's new 'crib' is beyond description. The pics don't do it justice. What a great hub for a lifetime of winter memories.
